STRASBOURG ATOMS WIN

LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

Welcome to Strasbourg Maroons Hockey

Strasbourg Minor Hockey always produces a year of excitement, friendship, and fun and last years season was no exception. We enjoyed quite a successful season with regards to fundraising.  The community and local business owners always come through for us through our advertising/sponsorship program as well as supporting our other fundraising efforts.  Some of the additional fundraising efforts included:  creating a cookbook which contained recipes supplied by the players as well as old and new pictures of Strasbourg Minor Hockey pictures and some great artwork by our younger players, the annual bottle drive, and our loser draft.  For the 2007-2008 season we will carry out some of the same yearly campaigns and are working to come up with some new creative ideas to run with.  One of the exciting new ideas is to develop a Strasbourg Minor Hockey History Book.

This season we will have the following teams playing out of our arena:  Initiation, Novice, Atom and Midget.  There is much anticipation for the season to begin which will be kicked off by our annual Hockey School on Oct 12-14th.  This hockey school is instructed by our very own Minor Hockey President, Scott Frizzell.  The kids enjoy the time they spend on the ice with Scott and the parents of our club appreciate all the time and effort Scott puts into both the Hockey School and Strasbourg Minor Hockey in general.

Look to our website http://www.strasbourghockey.com/ to find information with regards to schedules, rosters, sponsorship, and upcoming events.

We look forward to seeing you in our arena and enjoying the spirit of hockey with us.

A message from the President:

I would like to welcome everyone to the 2007/08 hockey season.  To some it may feel like the ice melted last week and that they are not ready for hockey, but to others there is an air of excitement and the anticipation of their children stepping onto the ice for another season.

I do hope that everyone has taken a break from the arenas and allowed their children to pursue other avenues of sport and fun for the summer. In today’s world there are many pressures that children are faced with and we must keep everything in perspective when it comes to the long term development of the kids. Let’s make sure the kids are having fun.

A huge thanks to all of the volunteers that coach and manage the teams.  Most of these individuals are involved because they love the game. It is up to everyone to make sure that we provide them with the proper tools for the job. Lets not be to hasty to criticize when you are not in their shoes.

I cannot finish without giving special merit to all of our officials that we have within our hockey system. Officials will always be part of the game and they are involved because they also love the game.

Good Luck this season, compete hard, play fair and have fun.

Scott Frizzell
